Update - We have received a further update within the last half hour from the Indigo team, outlining the tentative repair schedule:
- 5th December 2025: Permitting process initiated with Indonesian authorities - 19th January 2026: Ship Mobilisation from Batam, Indonesia - 23rd - 30th January 2026: Cable repair window - 30th January 2026: Scheduled repair completion
Dec 05, 2025 - 06:41 UTC
Identified - The Indigo-West submarine cable system went down at 2025-12-03 08:42:14.512953 UTC roughly ~44 hours ago.
We have now been provided with information we can disclose publicly.
- OTDR testing indicates that the fault is located between two subsea repeaters, approximately 725 km from Singapore. - Callout notification to the marine vessel repair company has been issued and a vessel is being organised to conduct the repair. The repair vessel is currently available for approximately mid-January 2026. - Marine vessel repair company will also begin the permitting application process with the Indonesian authorities which is expected to take approximately 45 days. This would make the repair permit approval ETA ~19th January.
Traffic has automatically rerouted via alternate paths. Customers in Australia will experience higher latency when accessing Southeast Asia or Europe, and vice-versa.
As a reminder, our live weathermap is available for all customers who wish to view the specifics.

Resolved -
This incident has been resolved.

Update -
Taipei is currently isolated from our backbone due to multiple submarine cable failures across four distinct systems.
- RNAL Segment AB (to Japan) – Cut, pending repair ETA: end of August. - RNAL Segment DC (to Hong Kong) – Cut, pending repair ETA: 10th Sep. - C2C Segment S2AB (to Hong Kong) – Cut, pending repair ETA: 4th Oct. - EAC (to Japan) – Repeater damage, currently under repair ETA: 21th Aug.
Due to the unprecedented number of simultaneous faults affecting the region, all ad hoc options have been exhausted. At this time, we are unable to restore backbone connectivity to Taipei.
Restoration will be dependent on the completion of the listed cable repairs.

Update -
Based on some back channel discussions, we find it likely this cable system won't be repaired for at least 6 months at this stage.
Should we get information that we can share regarding any potential repair we'll update, otherwise this status may end up un-changed for some time going forward.

Update -
This has been confirmed as a cut roughly 1100km from Wada (Japan).
No official ETR yet.
Jan 6, 06:11 UTC
Identified -
We have noted a fault on segment AB (Japan to Taiwan) of the RNAL submarine cable system. At this stage, we are still awaiting updates, as the damage investigation remains ongoing. No estimated time of resolution (ETR) has been provided yet.
Traffic has automatically been rerouted through alternative paths. During this period, customers may experience increased latency.
